Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an innovative and strategic Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent growth initiatives in Karoi, Mashonaland West Province. This pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive learning strategies that align with our company’s mission and growth objectives. The successful candidate will be instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous learning, ensuring our employees at all levels have access to the resources and development pathways needed to excel in their roles and advance their careers. You will be responsible for identifying skill gaps, developing bespoke training programs, leveraging cutting-edge e-learning solutions, and evaluating the effectiveness of all L&D interventions. This role demands a visionary leader with a deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and performance improvement methodologies. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with Career.zycto’s business goals and talent objectives.
  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of a wide range of learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, and soft skills workshops.
  • Identify current and future skill gaps within the organization and propose strategic solutions to address them.
  • Lead the evaluation of L&D initiatives, measuring their impact on employee performance, engagement, and retention.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of L&D professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Research and implement innovative learning technologies and methodologies, including e-learning platforms, blended learning, and gamification.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and department heads to understand specific training needs and customize solutions.
  • Manage the L&D budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in learning and development.

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or directorial role.
  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and evaluating successful L&D programs in a dynamic environment.
  • Expertise in instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and various training methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.
  • Strategic thinking with a results-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a consulting or professional services industry.
  • Certification in coaching, psychometric assessment, or a related HR discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement change management strategies related to learning initiatives.
  • Familiarity with talent management software and HR analytics.
