Job Description

A Rocha Kenya is seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Organizational Development to lead our strategic efforts in fostering a high-performance culture, enhancing organizational effectiveness, and ensuring sustainable growth. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping our internal capabilities, developing our talent, and driving crucial change management initiatives as we expand our conservation impact across Kenya. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive organizational development strategies aligned with A Rocha Kenya’s strategic plan.
  • Lead initiatives in talent management, including recruitment, performance management, succession planning, and staff retention.
  • Design and deliver effective learning and development programs to enhance staff capabilities and professional growth.
  • Foster a positive organizational culture that embodies A Rocha Kenya’s values and promotes employee engagement.
  • Drive change management processes to support organizational growth, adaptation, and efficiency.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of robust human resource policies and procedures.
  • Conduct organizational assessments and analyses to identify areas for improvement and develop actionable solutions.
  • Advise senior leadership on organizational structure, team dynamics, and workforce planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations in Kenya.
  • Manage and mentor a small team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.

Required Skills

  • Master's degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Organizational Development or HR leadership roles, with at least 5 years at a senior management level.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing OD interventions, including change management, talent management, and leadership development.
  • Strong understanding of human resources best practices and Kenyan labor laws.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate diverse teams.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
  • Fluent in English and Swahili.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a non-profit, conservation, or environmental organization.
  • Certification in Organizational Development, Coaching, or Project Management.
  • Familiarity with international best practices in human resources and organizational effectiveness.
