Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the overall R&D strategy aligned with company vision and business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of R&D professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from conceptualization through research, prototyping, testing, and commercialization.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, market trends, and scientific advancements to maintain a competitive edge.
- Manage R&D budgets, resources, and project timelines effectively to ensure efficient and timely delivery of projects.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, manufacturing, and marketing teams to ensure seamless integration and successful product launches.
- Establish and maintain intellectual property strategies, including patenting and trade secret protection.
- Ensure all R&D activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science).
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in R&D, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven track record of successfully bringing innovative products or solutions from concept to market.
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
- Deep understanding of intellectual property protection and regulatory compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
