Career.zycto is seeking an accomplished and strategic Director of Research & Development (R&D) to lead our innovation efforts in Epworth, Harare Province. This pivotal role requires a seasoned leader with a strong track record of bringing cutting-edge products and solutions from concept to market. As Director of R&D, you will be responsible for defining the strategic direction of our research and development initiatives, aligning them with the company’s overall business objectives and market needs. You will foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the R&D department, inspiring your team to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
You will oversee all phases of the product development lifecycle, from initial research and ideation to prototyping, testing, and successful commercialization. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the strategic R&D roadmap aligned with company goals and market opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of scientists, engineers, and researchers.
- Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from concept generation to commercialization.
- Manage the R&D budget, resources, and project timelines effectively.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, research areas, and innovation opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and intellectual property best practices.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the R&D department.

Required Skills
- PhD or Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in R&D, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully bringing new products or technologies to market.
- Strong understanding of product development lifecycle methodologies and project management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop diverse technical teams.
