Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the strategic vision and roadmap for the R&D department, aligning with overall company goals.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of scientists, researchers, and technical staff, fostering a culture of innovation and high performance.
- Oversee the entire R&D project lifecycle, including conceptualization, planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion.
- Identify, evaluate, and integrate new technologies, methodologies, and scientific breakthroughs relevant to our industry.
- Manage the R&D budget, resources, and timelines effectively to ensure project delivery within scope and cost parameters.
- Establish and maintain robust intellectual property strategies, including patenting and protecting proprietary research.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments (e.g., Operations, Marketing, Business Development) to ensure seamless transition of R&D outputs.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to maintain a competitive edge.
- Present R&D findings, progress, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Required Skills
- PhD in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Agronomy, Materials Science).
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in R&D, with at least 7 years in a leadership or directorial role.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex R&D projects from inception to commercialization.
- Strong understanding of intellectual property management and patenting processes.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and multidisciplinary teams effectively.
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
