Career.zycto is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of Research & Development to lead our innovation initiatives in Mazowe, Mashonaland Central Province. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of our research and development programs, from conceptualization through to product launch and continuous improvement. The Director of R&D will be instrumental in defining our strategic research agenda, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and innovation, and ensuring our R&D efforts align with market needs and business objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive R&D strategy aligned with the company’s long-term goals and market opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of scientists, researchers, and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Oversee the entire R&D project lifecycle, including concept development, experimental design, data analysis, and reporting.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, methodologies, and scientific advancements relevant to our industry.
- Manage the R&D budget, resources, and timelines effectively to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within scope.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, quality systems, and intellectual property protocols.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure successful product commercialization.
- Present R&D findings, strategies, and progress to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with academic institutions, industry partners, and key opinion leaders.
- Drive continuous improvement in R&D processes, methodologies, and team capabilities.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., Biotechnology, Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Material Science).
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in R&D, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or directorial role.
- Demonstrated success in leading R&D teams and bringing innovative products/solutions from concept to market.
- Strong understanding of scientific principles, experimental design, and statistical analysis.
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and make data-driven decisions.
- Deep knowledge of intellectual property management and regulatory compliance in relevant industries.
