Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the overall R&D strategy, aligning it with company vision and market demands.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of R&D professionals, fostering an innovative and collaborative work environment.
- Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from ideation, feasibility studies, prototyping, testing, to commercialization.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, materials, and processes that can enhance product performance or create new market opportunities.
- Manage the R&D budget, resources, and timelines effectively to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within scope.
- Establish and maintain strong intellectual property strategies, including patenting and trade secret protection.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing) to ensure R&D efforts meet market needs and business goals.
- Ensure all R&D activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Present R&D progress, results, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Research & Development, preferably in technology or manufacturing sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully bringing innovative products from concept to market.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and project management methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership, team-building, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage R&D budgets and resource allocation.
