Key Responsibilities
- Manage and dispatch a fleet of delivery vehicles and drivers efficiently, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Optimize delivery routes using advanced software and real-time traffic data to maximize efficiency and meet deadlines.
- Monitor the real-time progress of all deliveries, proactively identifying and addressing any potential delays or issues.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with drivers, clients, and internal teams regarding delivery status updates and changes.
- Handle incoming requests for new dispatches, skillfully re-route existing deliveries, and adapt to rapidly changing operational needs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all dispatches, delivery times, and driver activities for reporting and analysis.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant transport regulations, safety standards, and company operational policies.
- Provide exceptional on-road support to drivers, assisting with any logistical challenges, vehicle issues, or unexpected incidents.
- Prepare comprehensive daily dispatch reports and actively contribute to continuous operational improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Dispatcher, Logistics Coordinator, or in a similar transport management role.
- Excellent knowledge of London geography, road networks, and prevailing traffic patterns.
- Strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.
