Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the accurate receiving, unloading, and inspection of incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and documentation.
- Perform efficient picking, accurate packing, and proper staging of orders for outgoing shipments, ensuring all items meet quality and quantity specifications.
- Maintain organized and clean work areas within the distribution center, including shelving, aisles, and staging zones, adhering to 5S principles.
- Support inventory control efforts through regular cycle counting, investigating discrepancies, and accurate data entry using our warehouse management systems.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment safely (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks) after proper training and certification, strictly following all operational guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and health regulations to ensure a secure and compliant working environment at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily operational targets, contribute to problem-solving, and foster a positive team atmosphere.
Required Skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English for understanding instructions and documentation.
- Basic numeracy skills for counting, inventory verification, and simple calculations.
- Physical ability to lift and move packages up to 20kg regularly, and stand/walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks, from counting to data entry.
- Proactive work ethic, a willingness to learn new tasks, adapt to new systems, and embrace challenges.
- Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential for maintaining operational efficiency and team cohesion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or retail environment is a plus but not strictly required.
- Familiarity with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, email) for data entry and communication.
- Forklift certification or experience operating other material handling equipment is an advantage.
- Valid Class 3 driving license for potential future responsibilities.
