Career.zycto is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Distribution Centre Manager to lead our client’s state-of-the-art logistics facility in Düsseldorf. This pivotal full-time role demands a visionary leader with a deep understanding of warehouse operations, supply chain optimization, and team management. As the Distribution Centre Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and cost-effective flow of goods from inbound to outbound, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the distribution centre’s daily operations, including inventory control, shipping, receiving, order fulfilment, and workforce management. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of distribution centre operations, including inbound processing, storage, order picking, packing, shipping, and reverse logistics.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize warehouse layout, material flow, and inventory accuracy, leveraging technology and best practices.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of warehouse staff, supervisors, and team leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, accuracy, cost per unit, and on-time delivery, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations, fostering a secure working environment.
- Manage operating budgets, forecast resource needs, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, sales, customer service, and transportation teams to ensure seamless supply chain integration and customer satisfaction.
- Implement and maintain robust inventory control systems to minimize discrepancies and optimize stock levels.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, lean methodologies, and automation projects to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure optimal utilization of warehouse management systems (WMS).
Required Skills
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate large teams.
- Extensive experience (7+ years) in distribution centre management, warehouse operations, or logistics leadership roles.
- Deep understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and other logistics technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement principles.
- Solid knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations within a logistics environment.
- Financial acumen, including budget management and cost control.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in German language (written and spoken).
- Experience with automated warehousing solutions and advanced robotics.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt).
- Project management experience in logistics infrastructure upgrades or system implementations.
