Key Responsibilities
- Assess individual client needs, strengths, and interests to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Design, plan, and implement a diverse range of therapeutic recreational activities, including arts and crafts, music, games, physical activities, and community outings.
- Facilitate both individual and group sessions, ensuring engagement, safety, and therapeutic outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting programs as necessary to meet evolving needs and goals.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including medical staff, nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers, to ensure integrated care.
- Educate clients and their families about the benefits of diversional therapy and available community resources.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of therapeutic programs and services through research and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and organizational policies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Diversional Therapy, Recreational Therapy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) of practical experience as a Diversional Therapist.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing therapeutic recreation programs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and empathy skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities and intervention techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant therapeutic field.
- Certification or registration with a recognized professional body (e.g., Diversional Therapy Australia or equivalent).
- Experience working with diverse client populations (e.g., elderly, individuals with disabilities, mental health challenges).
- Proficiency in German language (B2 level or higher) is a significant advantage.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
