Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage Docker containers and Docker Compose configurations for various applications and services.
- Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps to automate build, test, and deployment processes for containerized applications.
- Work closely with development teams to containerize existing applications and ensure new applications are designed for containerization from inception.
- Implement and manage container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Swarm, or similar, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Monitor container performance, resource utilization, and troubleshoot issues related to Docker environments, ensuring optimal uptime.
- Implement and enforce container security best practices, including image scanning, vulnerability management, and runtime security.
- Contribute to the evolution of infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for managing container infrastructure.
- Document container configurations, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting guides to maintain knowledge transfer and operational efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the containerization and cloud-native landscape, evaluating and recommending new tools and practices.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise with Docker and containerization technologies, including Docker Engine, Docker Compose, and Dockerfiles.
- Solid experience with container orchestration platforms, particularly Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and shell scripting (Bash).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Proficiency in version control systems, especially Git.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in complex distributed environments.
- Ability to work effectively in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
