Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, empathetic, and organized Doctor Assistant to join our dedicated team at Bamele Medical Centre in Mahalapye. Key Responsibilities
- Assist doctors during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available.
- Prepare examination rooms before and after patient consultations, maintaining cleanliness and stocking medical supplies.
- Manage patient appointments, scheduling, and follow-ups efficiently.
- Handle patient registration, update medical records accurately, and ensure confidentiality of all patient information.
- Take and record vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints as directed by the doctor.
- Provide basic patient education and instructions as advised by the medical professional.
- Process patient inquiries, both in person and over the phone, with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain inventory of clinic supplies and assist with ordering and stocking.
- Ensure the clinic environment is always clean, tidy, and welcoming for patients.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and managing correspondence.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and clinic protocols.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Doctor Assistant or Medical Assistant.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinic procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
- High level of empathy, discretion, and professionalism.
- Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Medical Assisting, Nursing Auxiliary, or a related healthcare field.
- Knowledge of local healthcare regulations and practices in Botswana.
- Experience with a specific EHR system used in Botswana.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
