Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate General Practice Doctor to join our esteemed team at Negril Medical Centre. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient consultations, examinations, and diagnostic assessments.
- Formulate and implement comprehensive treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory analyses and imaging studies.
- Provide preventative care, including immunizations, health screenings, and lifestyle counseling.
- Manage chronic disease conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma.
- Refer patients to specialists as appropriate and ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records in compliance with medical standards.
- Participate in ongoing medical education and professional development activities.
- Collaborate effectively with medical and administrative staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Required Skills
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Current registration with the Medical Council of Jamaica (or eligible for registration).
- Minimum of 3 years of post-internship clinical experience in General Practice.
- Proven ability to diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of medical conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong patient empathy.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a community-based clinic or rural healthcare setting.
- Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Fluency in additional languages commonly spoken by tourists (e.g., Spanish, German) is a plus.
- Experience with minor surgical procedures and emergency care.
