Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Document Controller to join our growing team in Nuthall, Nottingham. In this role, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of project documents, from creation and distribution to archiving. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all project-related documentation, ensuring accuracy, quality, and integrity.
  • Implement and adhere to document control procedures and company standards.
  • Issue, record, and track all incoming and outgoing documents, drawings, and correspondence.
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems, ensuring all documents are current and easily retrievable.
  • Perform quality checks on documentation, ensuring compliance with project requirements and company templates.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure timely submission and retrieval of documents.
  • Manage document revisions, ensuring proper version control and distribution of updated documents.
  • Prepare document control reports and metrics as required by project management.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of document control processes and systems.
  • Provide training and support to team members on document control procedures and software usage.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Document Controller role, preferably within construction, engineering, or a related industry.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Exceptional organisational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and external parties.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of document control principles and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certification or diploma in administration, information management, or a related field.
  • Experience with specific EDMS platforms such as SharePoint, Aconex, or similar.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific document control standards and regulations.
  • Experience in training and supporting others on document control systems.
