Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and motivated Full-Time Driver Assistant to join our logistics and distribution team in Mutauanha, Nampula. This is a crucial entry-level position that supports our primary drivers in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of goods to our valued customers and distribution points across the region. As a Driver Assistant, you will play an integral role in our supply chain, working closely with experienced drivers to load, unload, and secure various products. You will be responsible for verifying delivery manifests, assisting with navigation, and ensuring all documentation is accurately completed. Key Responsibilities
- Assist drivers with the loading and unloading of goods onto and from delivery vehicles, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage.
- Verify product quantities and descriptions against delivery manifests and invoices.
- Help navigate routes, read maps (physical or digital), and provide directions to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle cabin and cargo area.
- Assist with basic vehicle inspections (e.g., tire pressure, fluid levels) as directed by the driver.
- Communicate effectively with customers at delivery points, assisting with offloading and collection of signatures or payments as required.
- Handle and return empty crates, pallets, and other reusable packaging materials.
- Report any discrepancies, issues, or delays encountered during deliveries to the driver and supervisory staff.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and traffic regulations.
- Provide general support to the driver to ensure smooth and uninterrupted delivery operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to 25kg) repeatedly throughout the day.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills (reading, writing, basic arithmetic).
