Job Description

G4S Kenya is seeking a highly skilled, reliable, and professional Driver to join our dedicated team in Lang’ata, Nairobi. This pivotal role involves operating company vehicles to transport personnel, goods, and equipment safely and efficiently across Nairobi and potentially other designated routes within Kenya. As a Company Vehicle Driver, you will be an essential part of our operations, ensuring that our services are delivered promptly and securely. You will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle’s excellent condition, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety protocols, and providing exceptional service to our clients and colleagues. This role demands a strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and a keen eye for detail. You will be expected to conduct pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections, report any mechanical issues, and ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately. The ideal candidate will possess an extensive knowledge of Nairobi’s road networks, a clean driving record, and a commitment to upholding G4S’s high standards of professionalism and safety. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles for the transportation of personnel, goods, and equipment as assigned.
  • Adhere strictly to all national traffic laws and G4S company driving policies and safety procedures.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, oil, and fuel levels, and complete required checklists.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and good working order of the company vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues, accidents, or damage promptly to the supervisor.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely arrivals and departures, taking into account traffic and road conditions.
  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation, including logbooks, delivery notes, and incident reports.
  • Assist with loading and unloading items as required, ensuring proper securing of cargo.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, colleagues, and clients, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Manage fuel consumption efficiently and ensure vehicle is refueled as per company policy.
  • Be available for occasional extended hours or weekend shifts as operational needs demand.

Required Skills

  • Valid Kenyan Driving License Class BCE (or equivalent for commercial vehicles)
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience with a reputable organization
  • Clean driving record with no major traffic offenses or accidents
  • Thorough knowledge of Nairobi roads, traffic regulations, and alternative routes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of integrity, reliability, and punctuality
  • Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting
  • Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and prolonged driving hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate in Defensive Driving
  • Basic First Aid training
  • Experience driving armored vehicles or large commercial vehicles
  • Knowledge of vehicle tracking systems and navigation tools
  • Previous experience in the security or logistics industry
