Job Description
Are you a highly skilled and professional driver with an impeccable safety record and a passion for providing outstanding service? Movenpick Hotel & Residences Nairobi is seeking an experienced and dedicated Full-Time Driver to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be the face of our hotel on the road, responsible for safely and comfortably transporting our esteemed guests, executives, and occasionally staff members to various destinations across Nairobi and its environs. Your duties will include airport transfers, city tours, business appointments, and special event transportation, all while upholding the highest standards of safety and comfort. You will play a crucial part in enhancing our guests’ overall experience, ensuring timely arrivals and departures, assisting with luggage, and providing a courteous and discreet service that reflects the Movenpick brand. We are looking for an individual who embodies professionalism, reliability, discretion, and possesses an in-depth knowledge of Nairobi’s road networks, traffic patterns, and key landmarks. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport hotel guests, executives, and staff to their destinations.
- Adhere strictly to all Kenyan traffic laws and hotel driving policies.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in excellent working condition.
- Maintain the cleanliness and pristine appearance of the vehicle, both interior and exterior.
- Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage and personal belongings.
- Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and travel logs.
- Plan optimal routes considering traffic and guest preferences to ensure timely arrivals.
- Handle all passenger interactions with the highest level of professionalism, courtesy, and discretion.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents promptly to management.
- Be available for scheduled and unscheduled driving assignments as required, including evenings and weekends.
- Ensure passenger safety and comfort at all times.
- Manage vehicle documentation (insurance, permits, licenses) and ensure they are up-to-date.
Required Skills
- Valid Kenyan Driving License Class B, C, or D with an excellent driving record (no major violations).
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a corporate or hospitality environment.
- Exceptional knowledge of Nairobi's road networks, alternative routes, and key landmarks.
- Strong understanding and adherence to traffic rules and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- High level of punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as per operational needs.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge to perform minor checks and identify issues.
- Discretion and confidentiality when handling guest information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a driver for a 4-star or 5-star hotel.
- Defensive driving certification.
- Basic first aid training.
- Knowledge of VIP protocols and luxury service standards.
- Fluency in both English and Swahili.
