Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and experienced Driver to join our growing team in Madaraka, Nairobi. This is a crucial full-time position responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of personnel, documents, and goods as required by company operations. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport company personnel, clients, documents, and materials to designated locations in and around Nairobi and occasionally upcountry.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies at all times.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in excellent working condition, reporting any defects or necessary maintenance promptly.
- Maintain a detailed and accurate logbook of all journeys, mileage, fuel consumption, and service records.
- Ensure the vehicle is always clean, well-maintained, and fueled, arranging for scheduled maintenance and repairs as necessary.
- Assist with loading and unloading items, ensuring their safety and secure handling during transit.
- Plan optimal routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption, considering traffic patterns and road conditions.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously to clients and the public.
- Handle urgent requests and adapt to changes in schedule with flexibility and a positive attitude.
- Maintain confidentiality of all company information and documents handled during transportation.
- Provide administrative support for errands, such as bank deposits, mail delivery, and procurement, as requested.
Required Skills
- Valid Kenyan Driving License (Class BCE or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven professional driving experience in Nairobi.
- Excellent knowledge of Nairobi's road networks, traffic laws, and alternative routes.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Swahili.
- High level of integrity, punctuality, and reliability.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift moderately heavy items.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proactive and safety-conscious approach to driving.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate of Good Conduct.
- Defensive Driving Course certification.
- Prior experience driving for a corporate entity or a recruitment/logistics firm.
- First Aid training certification.
