This is a crucial full-time role, vital to our operational success, where you will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods across various routes within Portland and surrounding parishes using a company-provided vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company-provided vehicle for the delivery of goods.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting and reporting any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Load and unload merchandise, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods to prevent damage during transit.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
- Verify accuracy of delivery manifests against loaded goods and received items, obtaining necessary signatures and proof of delivery.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and vehicle records, including mileage, fuel consumption, and service schedules.
- Adhere strictly to all national traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics team regarding delivery status, delays, and any issues encountered on route.
- Represent Career.zycto professionally and courteously during all interactions with clients and the public.
- Assist with warehouse duties and general logistics tasks when not on delivery routes, as required.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Jamaica)
- Clean driving record (abstract required)
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar logistics role
- Strong knowledge of local routes and road networks in Portland and surrounding areas
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) regularly
- Basic mechanical aptitude for vehicle maintenance checks
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and responsibility
- Attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and manifest verification
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Defensive Driving certification
- Experience with GPS and navigation software
