In this pivotal role, you will be the face of our company on the road, responsible for the efficient transportation and delivery of goods across Kingston and surrounding areas. This is a full-time position where you will operate a company-provided vehicle, maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a company-provided vehicle for local deliveries and pickups within Kingston and specified routes.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
  • Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate the delivery vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Follow planned routes and schedules, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to customers.
  • Verify contents of shipments against shipping documents and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Handle goods with care to prevent damage during transit and delivery.
  • Provide excellent customer service, interacting courteously and professionally with clients at delivery points.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the company vehicle.
  • Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and logistics coordinators regarding delivery status and any unforeseen issues.

Required Skills

  • Valid General Driver's License (Class C or equivalent in Jamaica)
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience
  • Clean driving record (proof required)
  • Strong knowledge of Kingston and surrounding areas' road networks
  • Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in logistics, courier, or commercial delivery
  • Familiarity with GPS devices and route optimization applications
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
  • Customer service experience
