Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company-provided vehicle for local deliveries and pickups within Kingston and specified routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate the delivery vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
- Follow planned routes and schedules, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to customers.
- Verify contents of shipments against shipping documents and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
- Handle goods with care to prevent damage during transit and delivery.
- Provide excellent customer service, interacting courteously and professionally with clients at delivery points.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the company vehicle.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and logistics coordinators regarding delivery status and any unforeseen issues.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class C or equivalent in Jamaica)
- Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience
- Clean driving record (proof required)
- Strong knowledge of Kingston and surrounding areas' road networks
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in logistics, courier, or commercial delivery
- Familiarity with GPS devices and route optimization applications
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
