Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods, documents, and personnel.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries and collections.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring items are secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients, partners, and internal staff.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as fueling, cleaning, and checking fluid levels.
- Handle delivery paperwork, including invoices, manifests, and proof of delivery.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics team regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class B/C or equivalent in Jamaica)
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Clean driving record
- Excellent knowledge of Kingston and surrounding areas road networks
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights (up to 50 lbs)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
