Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company vehicle to deliver goods to various locations within Greater Portmore, Portmore, and surrounding areas.
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate a delivery vehicle.
- Follow routes and time schedules provided, or plan the most efficient route, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Collect payments, handle receipts, and process necessary paperwork accurately.
- Inspect vehicle for mechanical issues, perform routine maintenance checks, and ensure safety equipment is functional daily, reporting any issues immediately.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle maintenance records, and fuel consumption logs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies, including those related to vehicle operation and cargo handling.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper securing of cargo to prevent damage.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (e.g., Class C or higher in Jamaica).
- Clean driving record with no major infractions.
- Proven experience (at least 2 years) as a delivery driver or in a similar logistics role.
- Excellent knowledge of Portmore and surrounding St. Catherine areas, including major routes and shortcuts.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliveries efficiently.
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Defensive driving certification or advanced driving training.
- Experience with GPS devices, mapping software, and delivery management apps.
