Career.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Driver – Logistics & Delivery to join our growing team in Ginger Hill, Savanna-la-Mar. This pivotal full-time role involves operating a company-provided vehicle to ensure the timely and secure transportation of goods across designated routes within Savanna-la-Mar and surrounding areas of Westmoreland Parish. As a Driver, you will be at the forefront of our operations, acting as a crucial link between our clients and their valuable deliveries. Your daily responsibilities will extend beyond simply transporting items; you will be responsible for meticulous pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle, accurate loading and unloading of cargo, and maintaining precise delivery documentation. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to various destinations.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition and reporting any defects.
- Load and unload cargo carefully, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage during transit.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries, considering traffic and road conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, and mileage logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery status or any unexpected delays.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Handle delivery documentation, including invoices, manifests, and proof of delivery, ensuring accuracy and proper collection of signatures.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto professionally at all times.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as sorting, packing, and organizing goods when not on delivery routes.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (e.g., Class C or equivalent in Jamaica)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for at least the past three years
- Excellent knowledge of local roads and routes within Ginger Hill, Savanna-la-Mar, and Westmoreland Parish
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs)
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- High degree of professionalism and customer service orientation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Defensive Driving Certificate or relevant safety training
- Experience with courier or logistics software systems
- Familiarity with operating panel vans or light trucks
