Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated Driver – Logistics & Delivery to join our growing team in Flankers, Montego Bay. This pivotal role involves operating a company-provided vehicle to transport goods safely and efficiently across specified routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company-provided vehicles for the transportation of goods.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely and secure deliveries.
- Load, unload, and secure items properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and all required documentation.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions at delivery and pickup points.
- Assist with inventory management and verification as required.
- Handle cash or payment collection and processing in accordance with company procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding delivery status, delays, or challenges.
- Ensure the cleanliness and routine maintenance of the company vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid Jamaican General Driver's License (appropriate class for vehicle size)
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar logistics role.
- Excellent knowledge of Montego Bay and surrounding areas.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and local traffic laws.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) safely and repeatedly.
- Proficiency in using GPS devices and navigation applications.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge for routine checks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Certification in defensive driving practices.
- Experience with handheld scanning devices or delivery management software.
- Familiarity with various types of delivery vehicles (e.g., vans, trucks).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Fluency in local dialect (Patois) for enhanced customer interaction.
