Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain a company-provided vehicle for the transportation of goods and products.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or any unforeseen challenges.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally.
- Handle delivery documentation, including invoices, manifests, and proof of delivery signatures.
- Ensure cleanliness and basic upkeep of the company vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid Jamaican General Driver's License (Class A or C preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience (trucks/vans preferred)
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years
- Excellent knowledge of Mandeville and surrounding Manchester parish road networks
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Punctuality and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- Defensive driving certification
- Experience with route optimization software or GPS systems
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Previous experience in a customer-facing delivery role
