Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and professional Driver – Logistics & Delivery to join our growing team in Newtown, Black River. This pivotal role involves the safe and timely transportation of goods, materials, and products to various locations across the region, utilizing a company-provided vehicle. You will be an integral part of our supply chain, ensuring that our clients receive their deliveries promptly and in excellent condition, upholding our reputation for reliability and outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and maintain a company-provided vehicle for the transportation and delivery of goods.
  • Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, adhering to strict schedules and deadlines.
  • Load and unload merchandise, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage during transit.
  • Verify accuracy of delivery contents against shipping documents and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or defects promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and other operational data.
  • Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with the logistics team regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
  • Assist with warehouse duties, including sorting, packing, and organizing goods, as needed.

Required Skills

  • Valid General Driver's License (preferably Class C or above)
  • Clean driving record with no major violations for the past 3 years
  • Proficient in navigating using maps, GPS, and local knowledge of Black River and surrounding areas
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) regularly
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • High degree of reliability and punctuality
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience with delivery scanning equipment or mobile dispatch systems
  • First Aid and Defensive Driving certification
  • Experience in a logistics or supply chain environment
