Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver goods and packages.
- Adhere to assigned routes and delivery schedules to ensure timely service.
- Load and unload vehicles, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
- Verify contents of shipments against shipping documents upon loading and unloading.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and manifest documentation.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any maintenance needs.
- Interact professionally with clients, representing the company with courtesy and respect.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and organization as required.
- Handle cash or process payments for deliveries when necessary, ensuring accuracy.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Jamaica)
- Clean driving record
- Proven experience as a professional driver (delivery, logistics, or similar)
- Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and road safety regulations
- Strong geographical knowledge of St. Andrew and surrounding areas
- Ability to operate and maintain a company vehicle responsibly
- Physical ability to lift, load, and unload packages (up to 50 lbs)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctual and reliable
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) or GPS navigation systems
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Customer service experience in a delivery context
