Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Driver to join our dynamic logistics and delivery team. This crucial full-time role involves operating a company-provided vehicle to transport goods efficiently and safely across designated routes within Longville Park, May Pen, and surrounding areas. As a Driver, you are the face of our logistics operations, ensuring timely and secure delivery of various items while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. You will be responsible for not only driving but also for performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate delivery logs, and handling delivery documentation. We are looking for someone with an impeccable driving record, strong navigational skills, and a commitment to meticulous work. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company-provided vehicle for local and regional deliveries.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring secure transit and careful handling of all items.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and documentation (e.g., invoices, delivery notes, manifests).
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service during pickups and deliveries, representing the company professionally.
- Plan efficient routes using navigation tools to ensure timely deliveries and optimize fuel consumption.
- Assist with warehouse tasks or other duties as needed to support overall operations.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (e.g., Class C or higher, specific to Jamaica's requirements)
- Clean driving record for the past 3-5 years
- Proven experience in commercial driving or logistics delivery
- Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations
- Strong geographical knowledge of Longville Park, May Pen, and surrounding regions
- Ability to lift and move packages of varying weights (up to 50 lbs)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctual, reliable, and highly responsible work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with route planning software or GPS systems
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting
- Customer service experience in a delivery or related field
