Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company-provided vehicle for the delivery and collection of goods across Ardenne, Kingston, and specified surrounding areas.
- Plan and execute daily delivery routes in the most efficient manner, considering traffic, time constraints, and customer requirements.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance needs or issues promptly.
- Load and unload packages and cargo securely, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Verify contents of shipments against shipping documents and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents encountered.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatch, customers, and colleagues.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations, company policies, and traffic laws.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other tasks as required during downtime or as part of overall team support.
- Handle cash or electronic payments securely, if required, and accurately reconcile daily transactions.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class C or equivalent for light/medium commercial vehicles)
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience in a logistics or delivery role
- Clean driving record with no major infractions
- Strong knowledge of Kingston and surrounding routes and geography
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge (e.g., checking fluid levels, tire pressure)
- Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic
