Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and reliable Driver – Logistics & Delivery professional to join our network of premier clients operating in Spanish Town, St. Catherine. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced driver who prides themselves on punctuality, safety, and excellent customer service. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of goods, operating a company-provided vehicle. Our client places a high premium on ensuring that their logistical operations are seamless and that their customers receive their products in perfect condition and on schedule. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of road safety regulations, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of company assets.
As a crucial part of the delivery team, you will navigate various routes within Spanish Town and surrounding parishes, ensuring all deliveries are made in accordance with planned schedules and client expectations. Beyond driving, you’ll be involved in loading and unloading goods, verifying delivery manifests, and interacting professionally with customers. The ideal candidate will possess a clean driving record, a valid driver’s license, and a strong work ethic. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company-provided vehicle for the transport and delivery of goods to various locations.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, utilizing navigation tools as required.
- Load, unload, and secure items appropriately to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify accuracy of goods against delivery notes, invoices, and manifests.
- Obtain necessary signatures and complete all delivery documentation accurately.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of the company vehicle.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions at delivery points.
- Handle unexpected situations (e.g., traffic delays, vehicle breakdowns) professionally and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class C or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience (delivery/logistics preferred)
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and road safety regulations in Jamaica
- Strong geographical knowledge of Spanish Town and St. Catherine
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) regularly
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctual, reliable, and highly responsible
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency in using GPS devices and navigation apps
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent G.C.E./CXC passes
- Experience with electronic proof of delivery systems
- Certification in defensive driving
- Previous experience in a courier or fast-paced delivery environment
