Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company vehicle for the pickup and delivery of goods, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, utilizing navigation tools and local knowledge to ensure timely arrivals.
- Verify accurate loading and unloading of items, ensuring goods match delivery manifests.
- Maintain the cleanliness and operational condition of the company vehicle, conducting routine checks and reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally and courteously with clients.
- Accurately complete delivery paperwork, including logs, invoices, and expense reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols, including defensive driving techniques and proper handling of goods.
- Assist with loading and unloading when necessary, ensuring proper lifting techniques are used.
- Handle unexpected situations or changes in schedule with flexibility and a problem-solving attitude.
Required Skills
- Valid Jamaican General Driver's License (Minimum Class C or equivalent)
- Clean driving record for the past 5 years
- Proficient in using GPS and navigation applications
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with St. Andrew and surrounding parishes
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Defensive Driving Certification
- Experience with courier or logistics software systems
- Previous experience as a professional delivery or logistics driver in Jamaica
