Your daily routine will involve more than just driving; it will encompass meticulous route planning, diligent vehicle inspection, secure loading and unloading, and exceptional customer interaction. You will navigate local and regional routes, using your excellent knowledge of the Westmoreland area to optimize delivery schedules and minimize delays. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle for the delivery of goods.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to meet schedules and customer expectations.
- Load and unload merchandise carefully, ensuring proper handling and security.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including mileage, fuel logs, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other tasks as needed when not on delivery routes.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (or equivalent for commercial vehicles)
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Clean driving record
- Excellent knowledge of Little London and surrounding Westmoreland areas
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs)
- Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with delivery tracking software or GPS systems
- Certificate in defensive driving or road safety
