As a Driver at Career.zycto, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods using a company-provided vehicle. Your daily tasks will involve more than just navigating routes; you’ll be performing essential pre-trip inspections, meticulously loading and unloading cargo, ensuring timely deliveries, and providing exceptional customer service with every interaction. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to various destinations within Dolphin Bay, Port Antonio, and surrounding parishes.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Accurately load, unload, and secure cargo, following all safety guidelines and best practices.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, adapting to traffic and road conditions as necessary.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and manifest documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service during pickups and deliveries, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Keep the company vehicle clean, tidy, and well-maintained.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other tasks as needed to support logistics operations.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class C or equivalent for light/medium goods vehicles) in Jamaica.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience.
- Clean driving record, free of major infractions.
- Excellent knowledge of Dolphin Bay, Port Antonio, and surrounding areas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages of varying weights (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Punctual, reliable, and highly responsible.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) or GPS navigation systems.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
- Customer service experience in a delivery or logistics setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
