Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to join our dedicated logistics and delivery team in Cross Roads, Kingston. This crucial role involves the safe and timely transportation of goods to various destinations across the Kingston metropolitan area and surrounding parishes. As a Driver with Career.zycto, you will be operating a company-provided vehicle, making your commitment to safe driving practices and vehicle maintenance paramount. You will be the face of our company on the road, interacting with clients and ensuring every delivery reflects our commitment to excellence. We are looking for an individual with a strong work ethic, exceptional navigational skills, and a proven track record of dependability. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company-owned vehicles (van or small truck) safely and efficiently for the transport of goods.
- Plan and execute daily delivery routes in the most efficient manner, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Load, unload, and secure items properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage logs, delivery receipts, and inspection reports.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Assist with warehouse duties, including packing and organizing, as needed.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and clients regarding delivery status or issues.
- Ensure the cleanliness and general upkeep of the assigned company vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class C or equivalent for light commercial vehicles) in Jamaica.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience in logistics or delivery.
- Clean driving record with no major infractions.
- Strong knowledge of Kingston and surrounding areas road networks.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Proficient in using GPS devices and navigation apps.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with route optimization software.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
