Job Description

Are you an experienced and meticulous driver with a passion for punctuality and customer satisfaction? Career.zycto, a rapidly expanding logistics and delivery service, is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Driver to join our dynamic team in Norbrook, St. Andrew. We pride ourselves on reliable service, and our drivers are the essential link in our operational chain, ensuring goods reach their destinations safely and on schedule.

In this crucial role, you will be responsible for operating company-owned vehicles to transport a variety of goods across specified routes within Kingston and the wider St. Andrew parish. Your keen eye for detail will be vital in conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and ensuring all safety protocols are meticulously followed. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles (vans, light trucks) to transport goods to various locations as per scheduled routes and delivery instructions.
  • Conduct thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, documenting any defects or maintenance needs promptly to ensure operational safety and compliance.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage during transit.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, records of goods picked up and delivered, and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery.
  • Adhere strictly to all Jamaican traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and internal staff regarding delivery status, delays, or any unforeseen issues encountered on the road.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Keep the company vehicle clean, tidy, and well-maintained, inside and out.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, traffic violations, or mechanical problems immediately to the supervisor.
  • Assist with route planning and optimization when necessary to ensure the most efficient delivery paths.

Required Skills

  • Valid General Driver's License (Class B or C equivalent in Jamaica)
  • Clean driving record (abstract required)
  • Excellent knowledge of Kingston and St. Andrew road networks
  • Strong navigation and geographical awareness skills
  • Physical ability to load, unload, and lift packages as required
  • Punctual, reliable, and responsible
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Defensive Driving Certificate
  • Experience with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
  • Previous experience in a logistics or delivery role (e.g., courier, truck driver)
