Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Driver to join our logistics and delivery team in Frankfield, Clarendon. This is a critical role that ensures the timely and safe transport of goods to our valued customers and partners across designated routes within Jamaica. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company-provided vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Transport goods, packages, and materials to various locations as per scheduled routes and delivery instructions.
- Load and unload delivery items, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage.
- Verify accuracy of delivery orders against items loaded and delivered, obtaining necessary signatures and documentation.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or defects promptly.
- Maintain a clean driving record and comply with all regulatory requirements for commercial vehicle operation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or any unforeseen delays.
- Handle cash or process payments upon delivery when required, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Adhere to delivery schedules and routes, optimizing efficiency while prioritizing safety.
- Represent Career.zycto professionally and courteously at all times while interacting with customers.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's Licence (e.g., Class C or D in Jamaica)
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations
- Proven experience in commercial driving or delivery services
- Strong understanding of Jamaican road safety regulations
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to operate GPS devices and navigation applications
- Good physical stamina for loading/unloading and prolonged driving
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge (e.g., checking oil, tire pressure)
- Customer service-oriented approach
- High level of integrity and responsibility
