Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company-provided vehicle to deliver goods to various locations within Mona, Kingston, and wider St. Andrew.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and documentation, including proof of delivery.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with dispatch, colleagues, and clients.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and transportation regulations.
- Handle customer inquiries or concerns professionally during deliveries.
- Assist with warehouse duties or inventory management as needed during downtimes.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class A or equivalent for light/medium commercial vehicles)
- Minimum 1.5 years (18 months) of professional driving experience, preferably in logistics or delivery
- Excellent knowledge of Kingston and St. Andrew road networks
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and defensive driving practices
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software
