Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company-provided vehicle for the transport and delivery of goods.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any issues immediately.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring secure placement and proper handling to prevent damage.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules, adapting to unforeseen delays or changes as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, vehicle mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Ensure the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned company vehicle.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Assist with warehouse tasks or other duties as assigned during periods of low driving activity.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class C or equivalent for commercial vehicles)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for the past 3 years
- Proven experience in logistics, delivery, or professional driving roles
- Strong geographical knowledge of Portmore and surrounding St. Catherine areas
- Ability to operate and maintain various types of delivery vehicles safely
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities
- Physical stamina to load, unload, and move packages (up to 50 lbs)
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with GPS devices and route optimization software
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- First Aid and defensive driving certification
- Customer service experience in a delivery context
