Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods and personnel.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries and pickups within Negril and surrounding areas.
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance needs or issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all local and national traffic laws, regulations, and company safety policies.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients and partners, maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Assist with general warehouse duties or loading/unloading tasks as required.
- Handle cash or payment transactions as needed, with meticulous record-keeping.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of the company vehicle at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (e.g., Jamaican Class C or F).
- Clean driving record with no major infractions or accidents.
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in logistics, delivery, or professional driving.
- Excellent knowledge of Negril and Westmoreland road networks and landmarks.
- Strong navigational skills, including the ability to effectively use GPS and maps.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs/23 kg) safely and repeatedly.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
