Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring all systems are in good working order.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage during transit.
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently to meet scheduled delivery times.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and documentation for all transported goods.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or unforeseen issues.
- Handle delivery paperwork, including invoices, manifests, and proof of delivery receipts.
- Ensure the cleanliness and general maintenance of the company vehicle.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions at pick-up and delivery points.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations for handling and transporting various types of goods.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Jamaica)
- Clean driving record for at least 3 years
- Familiarity with Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth, and surrounding areas
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs)
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience with route optimization software or GPS systems
- Customer service experience in a delivery setting
