Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Driver to join our growing logistics and delivery team. As a vital member of our operations, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations within St. Andrew and surrounding parishes. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, documenting any defects or issues.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods, adhering to scheduled routes and timelines.
- Assist with loading and unloading items, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery status or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Handle delivery paperwork, including invoices and receipts, obtaining necessary signatures.
- Keep the company vehicle clean, tidy, and well-maintained.
- Provide excellent customer service during all interactions.
Required Skills
- Valid Jamaican General Driver's License (Minimum Class C or higher)
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations
- Proven experience in commercial driving and logistics
- Excellent knowledge of St. Andrew and surrounding areas in Jamaica
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certification in defensive driving
- Experience with route optimization software or GPS systems
- Familiarity with various types of delivery vehicles (e.g., vans, small trucks)
- Prior experience in a customer-facing delivery role
