Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Driver to join our dynamic logistics and delivery team based in Linstead, St. Catherine. This critical role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods and products using a company-provided vehicle. As a Driver, you will be the face of our operations, responsible for ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining a high level of professionalism, and upholding our commitment to customer satisfaction. We are looking for an individual with a strong sense of responsibility, excellent road safety awareness, and a proven track record in logistics or delivery services. You will navigate established routes, interact professionally with clients, and contribute significantly to the seamless flow of our supply chain. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate company-owned vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to various locations within St. Catherine and surrounding parishes.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition and reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Load and unload cargo carefully, ensuring proper securing of items to prevent damage during transit.
  • Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with clients, representing the company with integrity and providing excellent customer service during deliveries.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, adapting to traffic conditions and unexpected delays as needed.
  • Assist with warehouse duties, inventory checks, and general operational support as required.
  • Ensure all delivery documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted according to company procedures.

Required Skills

  • Valid General Driver's License (Class A or equivalent for commercial vehicles in Jamaica)
  • Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience in logistics or delivery services
  • Clean driving record with no major traffic violations in the past 5 years
  • Thorough knowledge of St. Catherine parish roads and general Jamaican road networks
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying packages up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GCE/CXC qualifications
  • Defensive driving certification or similar advanced driving training
  • Experience with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge for minor repairs and troubleshooting
  • Customer service experience in a delivery-focused environment
