Career.zycto is looking for a dedicated and experienced Driver to join our dynamic logistics and delivery team in Mona, St. Andrew. This pivotal role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods to various destinations across the Kingston and St. Andrew metropolitan area, utilizing a company-provided vehicle. You will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining accurate delivery records, and upholding the highest standards of customer service. You will play a crucial part in our supply chain, ensuring that products reach their intended recipients promptly and in perfect condition. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles (vans/small trucks) safely and efficiently for the delivery and collection of goods.
- Adhere strictly to assigned delivery schedules and routes to ensure timely service.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, documenting any issues or required maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage logs, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Load and unload goods securely, ensuring proper handling and care of all items.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding delivery status or any unforeseen delays.
- Comply with all traffic laws, company safety policies, and local regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Handle cash or digital payments for deliveries if required, with accurate record-keeping.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class B or equivalent for light commercial vehicles)
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations for the past 3 years
- Proficient knowledge of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques
- Excellent geographical knowledge of Mona, St. Andrew, and surrounding areas
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and minor maintenance checks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to lift and carry packages (up to 50 lbs) and assist with loading/unloading
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience in logistics or delivery services
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software
