Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans, trucks, etc.) for the delivery and collection of goods across specified routes in Rose Hall, Montego Bay, and surrounding areas.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy and reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Load and unload items carefully, verifying cargo against delivery manifests and ensuring secure transportation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and documentation, including proof of delivery and vehicle mileage.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Handle cash or payment transactions as required, accurately and securely.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the assigned company vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (e.g., Class C or equivalent for light/medium vehicles in Jamaica).
- Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in logistics or delivery.
- Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and road safety regulations.
- Strong geographical knowledge of Montego Bay and surrounding parishes.
- Ability to lift and move packages, sometimes heavy, as required.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with handheld delivery devices or logistics software.
- Customer service experience.
- First Aid and defensive driving certifications.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends or public holidays if needed.
