Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain a company-provided vehicle for the delivery of goods, packages, and documents.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Load, unload, and secure items, ensuring they are protected during transit.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Provide excellent customer service during pickups and deliveries, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies.
- Handle cash or digital payments as required, ensuring accurate reconciliation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and internal teams regarding delivery status and any unforeseen issues.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as sorting and organizing packages when not on delivery routes.
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of the company vehicle.
- Represent Career.zycto with professionalism and integrity at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class C or equivalent for light/medium vehicles) issued in Jamaica.
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a logistics or delivery setting.
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.
- Excellent knowledge of Kingston's road networks and traffic patterns.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge (e.g., checking fluid levels, tire pressure).
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Defensive Driving Certificate.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and delivery management software.
- Previous experience operating panel vans or small trucks.
- Customer service experience in a client-facing role.
