Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver goods to various destinations within Kingston and surrounding parishes.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues or defects promptly.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring secure packaging and proper handling to prevent damage.
- Verify accuracy of delivery contents against shipping documents and obtain necessary signatures.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, resolving minor inquiries or directing customers to appropriate support.
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of the company vehicle.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other operational tasks as needed during non-driving periods.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class C or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience
- Clean driving record (no major traffic violations or accidents)
- Excellent knowledge of Kingston and surrounding road networks
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctual, reliable, and highly organized
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting
