Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain a company-provided vehicle for the transport and delivery of goods.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, adhering to strict schedules and deadlines.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle service records.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers during deliveries, collecting signatures and payments as required.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Assist with warehouse duties, including sorting, packing, and inventory checks, when not on delivery routes.
- Handle and resolve customer queries or complaints efficiently and escalate when necessary.
- Ensure the cleanliness and presentability of the company vehicle.
- Follow proper procedures for documentation and administrative tasks related to deliveries.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Minimum 3 years held)
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or professional driver (minimum 3 years)
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations
- Excellent knowledge of local roads and routes in Spanish Town and St. Catherine
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to 50 lbs)
- Punctual, reliable, and highly responsible
- Customer-focused with a professional demeanor
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
