Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and professional Driver to join our dynamic logistics and delivery team based in Naggo Head, Portmore. As a Driver, you will be the integral face of our company, responsible for the safe and timely transportation and delivery of goods to our valued customers across various locations within Portmore and wider Saint Catherine Parish. You will operate a well-maintained, company-provided vehicle, adhering strictly to all traffic laws and company policies, thereby ensuring the integrity and security of all cargo from departure to successful arrival. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company-provided vehicles for the transportation and delivery of goods to specified locations.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies and procedures.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Load and unload goods accurately and safely, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including manifests, delivery receipts, and vehicle logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Handle cash or electronic payments as required for deliveries, ensuring accurate reconciliation.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Assist with route planning and optimization to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents promptly to management.
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the company vehicle.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver’s Licence (e.g., Class C or higher in Jamaica).
- Minimum 2 years of proven professional driving experience in a logistics or delivery role.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
- Excellent knowledge of Naggo Head, Portmore, and surrounding areas.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights (up to 50 lbs).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of professionalism and customer service orientation.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with route optimization software or GPS navigation systems.
- Familiarity with electronic proof of delivery systems.
- Previous experience operating various types of delivery vehicles (vans, small trucks).
