Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company-provided vehicle to deliver goods to various destinations.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely and accurate deliveries, utilizing navigation tools as needed.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage during transit.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or defects immediately.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and complete all necessary documentation such as invoices and manifests.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations, including defensive driving practices.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Collect payments from customers, issue receipts, and reconcile daily cash/credit transactions as required.
- Assist with warehouse duties, such as sorting or organizing inventory, during downtime or as needed by management.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Jamaica) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Mandeville and surrounding Manchester Parish road networks.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and route planning skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages, up to 50 lbs, frequently throughout the day.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
